Day 43

Weerree Baaack!

Anyway-we have been taking it easy here at the coast,still in Chula Vista.The San Diego area is fantastic

We are a little dissapointed in the weather-got up this morning and saw some clouds,can you imagine that!I called Arnie to complain but I couldn't understand what he said.Maria said it was something like "I'll be back"


Things growing in our yard
We have these flowers to begin with

And this is the final result.don't know what they are & we are afraid to eat them,so we just throw them

We have this boat yard around the corner from us & we finally fiqured out what's going on over there.At first we thought they were building ships but not so.

You may have to look carefully but what happens is they build scaffolding all around these yachts then they cover the scaffolding with plastic wrap & install fans in the cover.

Why you ask-why would they do that?

So you can paint them(not the fans-the yachts)

You don't have to have a monster building.

WOW you say WOW

On to the next subject

We have this statue located in the park where we are staying

Wouldn't this guy make a mess if he shit on your windshield



There is also a pier here where we took a walk & found this fisherman reeling in a killer sting ray.

Fortunately we managed to escape with our lives before the killer attacked

Not only have we had a couple of happy hours with Peggy's long lost friends Lorraine & Lloyd

We went out for dinner with them too.The food at the restaurant here at the marina is great but the company is even better. the funny thing is Lloyd & I know a lot of the same people from the Peace River area as we both were dealing with the same customers back in the mid 70's.

Day 42

Had no connection to Blogger again
Telus claims it's not them

They say it's google

Got a hold of Thomas,an advertising guy at google(google does not have phone tech support)He had me send him an email & he is going to take it over to tech people(great guy)

We shall see

DAY 41

You may or you may not know that we each have a telus air card which we use to get on the internet.This is what we use at home & now we subscribed to an international plan which has been working just fine up till now.
Now both our cards will allow us to go any where we want on the internet except blogspot.I have no idea how this can be but it is.I am presently using a different connection method but not for long
It's probably going to be a long day on the phone to Telus

Anyway we took a drive over to Coronado Island

Saw a couple nice little boats but they are not for the McLeod

and even a ship or 2

They sure have some amazing bridges here


These are all San Diego of course,either taken from the bridge or the island

We even saw a mile of cars on the way home

but I don't know why

Then it was home .

Oh ya Peggy met a couple in the campground that used to be neighbours in St Albert

about 24 years ago.They are coming over for Happy Hour

Hmmmmmm-Do you think I have time for a little crackbook before they get here?

DAY 40

NO INTERNET CONNECTION

NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TODAY -THANKS TO TELUS

DAY 39

We packed up & moved to the south side of San Diego to Chula Vista on the San Diego Bay

This would be the nicest campground we have stayed in(not counting McLeod River Resort)

We have a Marina attached to the grounds but most of the boats are "Laundry Dryers)

I myself prefer "smokers" but it takes all kinds.

These 2 pictures were taken through our front window where we are parked in the campground

The throne was made so we can see the ocean from outside

If we turn the table sideways we can both enjoy the view

And to all a good night(didn't someone famous say that?)

DAY 38

After the gym we did a few neglected chores around here .

When you are this busy it is sometimes hard to keep up(yuk-yuk)

Then it was lounge around the pool time & wouldn't you know!

All of a sudden it's happy hour

That's it that's all we did but here are a few pictures from the other day when we were at the coast-For the golfer's

DAY 37

Twas a quiet day today

After travelling 4 miles on the tread mill this morning the only travelling we did was to the 99
cent store(it's across the street.
The way our dollar has gone for a shit I think it's the only place we can afford to shop

Actually it's the $1.29 store in Canadian

The following is a great example of retirement

Oh ya it's Friday so we got a Pizza

Day 36

It was back to the gym this morning for 1 hour on the treadmill.




Then it was off to Pet Smart where we dumped the kids for a few hours so they could get new doo's






Then we headed to downtown San Diego

Soon it was time for lunch on the bay

We started with clam chowder,Peggy with the traditional white,while I had the fisherman's red variety

Soup was complimented with fresh hot buns & sun-dried tomato butter

Then we had a crab & shrimp cocktail

followed by coconut shrimp

We ended with a crab stuffed portabello mushroom covered with a suculent diet sauce

There is probably no need to mention the beer & wine

This of course be us

Next a stroll down the docks to see the ships

The next thing you know it was time to head back to get the mutts

But first a stop at Best Buy to get a printer cord for the new printer.

paid $49.95 for HP printer that prints normal & pictures.

came with $18.99 colour ink cartridge & $14.99 black & white cartridge.

I guess this means the printer is worth $13.97
Plus a cord for $25.99 oh well


Time to pick up the kids & header home.

Trust me-We are not spoiled,but we are cute
