DAY 135

Milton showed up a little after nine to clean the carpets.

So we headed off to Denny's for breakfast.
Then it was off to Palm Springs

Palm Springs is 45 miles from here by the interstate but we decided to take the back way over the mountain.

It was quite the trip & very scenic.

Even the malls have pools & fountains

After shopping at the outlet malls we headed back via the interstate.

The carpet was still wet so off to Marie Calenders for dinner we went.

Then it was home for on line poker friday nite(I came 2nd out of 180 in a tourney)

Then we counted sheep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAY 134

Not a lot to report today.

There was not a cloud in the sky but it was windy.

I washed the jeep,Peg cleaned up,then we went to the pool for the afternoon.

That's it,that's all folks.

Tomorrow we are having the carpets cleaned so we are heading to Palm Springs for the day.

DAY 133

It was a beautiful day about 23c & sunny.

I went golfing with the guys from the park at Moreno Valley Ranch.

Pretty scary first hole

But a great course.

Struggled a bit but had a good time on a great day.

When I got home Peg had started happy hour with some friends & soon we had a few.

When the sun went down we brought out the campfire to keep us warm.

Just a note about California prices falling.

When we were here in Nov our friends were looking at a park model here in the park which was selling for $19,500.Yesterday they bought it for $7,000

DAY 132

It was a nice day about 20c & sunny.We had to wait for Mr. Propane to show up as we were empty.

Wow what a rip! I thought it was bad in AZ when we paid $3.20US for a gallon,here it was $3.75+4.75 surcharge + 8% tax + $3.00 for some other bullshit.I think it's double what it is at home. If you go a block down the street it's $1.79 gal

WHATEVER! (BOOZE IS CHEAP)

The good news is we finally got our Wells Fargo bank card.Hurray we can get some bucks out of our account.

So I took some of that cash & went to the driving range as I could not hit a ball in Monday but of course at the driving range I was awsome,figures

You can play on a nice golf course here for $32.00 to $39.00 with a cart but if you go on line & book
it's $20.00 to $25.00 for the same course.

To hit a bucket of balls is $9.00! Go figure

Anyway at 5:30 it was campground Texas holdem time(I guess you eat dinner at 4 or so)

I did pretty good but Peggy did better.

She clinched 5th place & took home some of that well sot after America Cash.

Great group to play with:met some more good people.



We then stopped buy the house,fed the mutts,poured another drink & headed for the shuffleboard pavillion.A couple of our friends were teaching their neighbours how to play.

We got in just as they were finishing but managed to get in a couple of shots.



And then it happened again: We had pissed away another day of retirement.

DAY 131

Peggy did nothing today!

She was supposed to go golfing with the girls but didn't.

I went golfing with the guy's at Diamond Valley(slope 127)seemed like 200.

It is in great shape,nice course- must be the new bag's fault.

I had the worst game I can remember in years.

Oh well maybe tomorrow.

DAY 130

We were supposed to go golfing this morning at 11:07 but we cancelled as it was only 12 & we were getting intermittent showers.



So we went for a late lunch at Marie Callender's after we dropped the puppies off for a hair cut.

We had never been there before & it was excellent.

After lunch we picked up the mutts & back home we went.

DAY 129

This morning was dull & dreary again but it cleared up for a while in the afternoon.

Peggy did a little shoplifting at the 99cent store & Wallyworld.

Now that's entertainment!

Other than that we did nothing.

DAY 128

Peggy went shopping for a ball marker thing that clips to her hat.

She bought one.

Then she bought a new Odyssey putter.

I got a new shirt & a new Bag Boy Rotating Bag(awesome)

Not a lot to report,Peg went to the gym,I went shopping,then organized my new golf bag.

Soon it was time for Friday nite Pizza & Poker.

DAY 127

Twas a messed up day!
Cloud,shower,sun & even a little rain

However we did get our 9 holes in at the campground mixer.The course was not in that good of shape & it was a silly game with only 3 clubs.But we did meet some nice people & we had some fun.
Later we went to the after golf pot luck supper which was also a good time & we met some more great folks.

Of course no camera.

DAY 126

Today we woke up to the pitter patter of rain drops on the roof.

So we decide to go to Temecula & find Trader Joes

It stops raining & off we go,It's about 25 miles.

Again it's a great day for America everybody.Why? I'll tell u why!

We found Glenfiddich for $13.00 a bottle cheaper than anywhere else in AZ or CA
We also bought a few bottles of "2 Buck Chuck",a local wine that's not available all the time.

After we got home we went for a dip in the pool then a hot tub.
Then we went for a ride on the bikes & stopped by the Deschamp's to say hi.(they are our friends we met in Dec when we stayed here last.)They just got back today from a 15 day cruise to Hawaii.

DAY 125

It was inauguration day here in the US so needless to say Peggy was glued to the tv for the duration.

I went to Camping World in San Bernardino & picked up another bike( now we have 2)

It is another great day for America everybody! Why? I'll tell you why.

Not much to report,we went for a little bike ride,signed up for Texas Holdem & Golf with the Park,mainly got settled in.

I did find out 1 important thing.
After the investigation they have discovered without a doubt
what caused that AirBus to go down in the Hudson River.

DAY 124 Arriving Hemet

We head west towards the mountains on a beautiful day.

As we pass by Palm Springs we note there are a few Wind Mills in operation.

Talk about driving a lemon

There should be enough lemons to last Peggy till she gets home.

As we approach Hemet we note the Temperature

DAY 123 Leaving Casa Grande

It's always hard to pull out when you're having a good time(tisk tisk),but that's what we do.
We sadly said goodbye to our good friends Gayle,Cliff,Maxine & Don till the summer.

After stopping at the I Hop for breakfast we headed west to Earp to visit "my pal Al" & the crew at Riverbend.


On the way we past through Quartzite,the place with all the venders.

We do not know why

We past about 20 of these old vw's on the road.There must have been a meet.




Then we arrive in Earp but the campsite is full to the max.They won't even let us drycamp for the nite
So we have a short visit with everybody then head about 10 miles down the road to a different site.

It's a nice spot but there is no cell phone or internet service.

Great sunset though.

We spend the night but decide we should head out as it's too far from the other site cause the odd pop may get consumed then driving will have to be done.

We really wanted to spend some time with these people but it will have to wait for a while.
